In hospital and senior home, residents spend most of their time indoor due to illness or
lack of motilities. Thus their Circadian Rhythm are adversely affected, thus disruption
their sleep patterns. Medical researches also indicate that people suffering from dementia
and other cognitive illness are more vulnerable to inadequate exposure to daylight.
Some residents in ACC Care Center in Sacramento, California participated in a 3-month study
to evaluate the circadian lighting effect on their behaviours. The result showed that their
behaviours such as yelling, agitation, and crying were reduced by an average of 41%. Also
they showed improvements in their sleep patterns. The daily time schedule of the color
temperature set inside the room is shown as below. |
